The Accademia Italiana del Giardino (Italian Academy of the Garden) organizes courses teaching through enjoyment as well as to extend hands-on practice.

It also offers a professional track by which participants can increase their passion for landscaping through study and experience.

Classes embrace all areas that deal in gardening, plants and all of the environments that can house them. These classes are divided into three categories:

• Recreational: to satisfy your curiosity in an easily comprehensive way that anyone can understand.
• Didactic: to increase your own knowledge about the world of plants and gardens, from design to care and maintenance.
• Professional: to acquire new qualifications and to improve your own abilities.

Recreational Courses for Adults

The recreational courses for adults are characterized by their short duration and are designed for all of those folks fascinated by the world of plants who want to learn all about their curiosities, particularities, myths and legends in an easily approachable but thorough manner.

Each course is available freely to those who are interested in green spaces for cultivating a hobby, creating a relaxation site, or even just a place to exchange opinions and ideas.

And it is for this reason that with a small membership fee, you will become an Associate Member of the Academy of the Garden allowing you to participate in courses at a special rate as well as be the first to receive all the newest information.

Recreational Courses for Children - KIDS ONLY

Gardening is an inviting way for children to develop new talents and at the same time have fun. They can learn information about plants, animals, environments and how to eat healthy. They can find empowerment in themselves and assume responsibility for taking care of a small garden or growing their own food.

Children, from ages 4 through 12 are accompanied by our experts along a learning track that will see them having fun while learning.

With just a small registration fee, they will become members in the Club of the Garden and can take advantage of special rates. They will also receive a garden garden kit to use during their classes and at home to practice and continue on their journey of learning in a creative way.

Didactic Courses

The didactic courses were created especially for those who want to deepen their own knowledge about the world of plants and gardening, from design to care all the way to maintenance.

These courses will be held cyclically and are divided into two categories, depending on duration:

• One day: courses on a specific theme to be held over a full day from morning to evening.
• Two days: courses on two or more associated themes to be held over two consecutive days from morning to evening

Some courses, depending on the theme, may require participation of one or more preparatory classes offered by us. This is to ensure a 360° view and therefore a fundamental understanding of the issues discussed.

Professional Courses

Giulio Carlo Argan defined the garden as an “artificial system, according to geometric or fantastical forms, of cultivated land, for the purpose of achieving a purely aesthetic result".

But a garden is so much more: it is a union of technical concepts and sensitivity, a place that must be created according to well defined criteria and guidelines, developed with passion and awareness, and loved as a lifestyle space.

Our intent is to train that person who will possess the know-how to care, maintain and improve private and public green spaces.
A person who knows the procedures and methods but also one who understands the value of Green.

This professional training program will be presented across multiple theory and hands-on sessions and is divided into two sections:

• Primary Courses
• Advanced Courses
